Henk van Alphen Managing Director
Henk has had a successful career in the mining business for over 25 years. Since 1999 Henk has been a Director of Cardero Resource Corp and was instrumental in establishing the Cardero Group of Companies. Henk holds senior management and director positions with several resource exploration and development companies, Henk has raised over $200 million for mining exploration, his leadership, knowledge and access to capital are an invaluable asset to the company.
Since founding the Company in 1999, Henk has created significant value for shareholders, not least through acquisition of undervalued projects like Pampa de Pongo, which was acquired for less than $1 million six years before it was sold for $100 million. Henk will continue to focus on corporate strategic initiatives for Cardero.

Lawrence W. Talbot Director, VP & General Counsel
Mr. Talbot is a mining lawyer with over 24 years experience representing a wide range of clients in the mining industry, from individual prospectors and junior and mid-size explorers and producers through to major mining companies, in both the hard-rock and industrial mineral fields. He has extensive experience acting for public natural resource companies and providing advice on all aspects of their businesses, including corporate finance, securities and regulatory matters, corporate governance and shareholder issues, and all aspects of corporate acquisitions, takeovers, divestitures and reorganizations. He is a director and/or officer of a number of public natural resource companies, including Cardero Resource Corp., International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., Wealth Minerals Ltd., Balmoral Resources Ltd. and Minaurum Gold Inc. Prior to July 1, 2006 he was a partner in one of Canada's largest law firms, and now acts as general counsel to a select group of public companies, including Cardero Resource Corp., International Tower Hill Mines Ltd., Wealth Minerals Ltd. and Corvus Gold Inc.
Stephan Fitch Director
Mr. Fitch brings to Cardero a broad range of international corporate finance and investment banking experience gained over 20 years. Mr. Fitch is co-founder and Managing Director of IAG Holdings Limited, a Gibraltar-based holding company for equity investments, and a co-founder and partner in IA Group Ltd., an American corporation, which specializes in merchant and investment banking. The firm's activities include specialized financings, corporate restructuring, licensing technology transfers, mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory projects.
Len Harris Director
Mr. Harris (metallurgist) has a long and successful career in the mining industry. Of great importance to Cardero is Len's career in Peru where he was President of Newmont Peru Limited and General Manager of Minera Yanalocha South America. It was under Len's leadership that Yanacocha became South America's most successful gold mine.
Dr. Murray Hitzman Director
Dr. Hitzman is one of the world's foremost authorities on Iron Oxide Copper-Gold (IOCG) deposits. In 1992 Dr. Hitzman co-authored the seminal paper on IOCGs prior to publishing one of the first papers on the origin of the giant Olympic Dam IOCG deposit in 1993. Dr Hitzman has worked in all of the major global IOCG districts including Cardero's frontier Baja IOCG Belt.
Murray Hitzman received BA degrees in Earth Science and Anthropology from Dartmouth College in 1976, an MS in geology from the University of Washington, Seattle in 1978, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1983.
.In 1993, Dr. Hitzman was named Geological Society of America Congressional Fellow and served from September, 1993 to August, 1994, on the staff of U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman (D - CT) working on natural resource and environmental issues. Dr. Hitzman was named Executive Branch Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement for Science/Sloan Foundation during 1994. As the Executive Branch Fellow he served as a senior policy analyst in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy from September, 1994 through March, 1996 specializing in natural resource, environmental, and geoscience issues
