61 separate coal seams are developed sufficiently to be considered of potential economic significance.

Work on the property includes 206 drill holes and 25,000 meters of drilling. Coal quality at Carbon Creek is excellent with 63 % of the measured and indicated resources and 85 % of the inferred resources classified as Hard Coking Coal (HCC). The remainder is mostly Semi-Soft Coking Coal (SSCC).

Wood Mackenzie has reviewed Carbon Creek's coal quality concluding that HCC and SSCC are close to benchmark specifications. They determined that Carbon Creek's hard coking coal will be marketed as a Mid-Volatile HCC, based on average Volatile Matter content of 27%, Coke Strength after Reaction of 60 to 65 and Rank of 1.1% Ro max. In addition, they commented that overall, project fundamentals are positive. Carbon Creek coal has the additional advantage of being low in ash.
