Cardero Resources Has Built Itself Quite A Fan Club Over the Past Year.
    Publisher: Minesite.com
When Cardero Resources presented at our 8th Minesite Mining Forum just over a year ago the company described itself as being a junior Canadian exploration company with projects in Argentina and Mexico. The Mexican projects included the Alisitos project, focussed on Olympic Dam style iron ore copper -gold mineralization and the Ludavina project, a new epithermal gold discovery. In northwest Argentina Cardero had two projects, a gold project, Condoryacu, and a silver project, Olaroz. The former is a shear hosted sulphide rich quartz breccia that has returned high grades for gold and silver. The Olaroz project is a sedimentary hosted epithermal silver project centred around the old Providencia Mine. Sampling returned a weighted average grade of 495 g/t silver and it was claimed to have potential for a large scale open pit silver mine.
